CNN is in turmoil.
Of that there is no doubt.
And now CNN fired a big star for a head turning reason.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
Back in January CNN was riding high after it ascended to the perch of the top-rated cable news network.
But since then it’s been all downhill and nothing but bad news.
And CNN yanked one big star off the air after people learned about this sex scandal.
Ever since Donald Trump left office, CNN’s ratings went in the tank.
The only host that drew any semblance of an audience was Chris Cuomo.
Now CNN suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely and it’s likely the left-wing network will end up firing Cuomo.
CNN took action against Cuomo after the New York State Attorney General’s office released thousands of documents from its investigation into current and former female staffers making sexual harassment and assault allegations against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Chris Cuomo previously admitted he participated in strategy sessions with his brother and his brother’s advisors to help Governor Cuomo respond to the allegations.
But Cuomo’s involvement ran far deeper.
Chris Cuomo told investigators that he worked his contacts in the media to dig up dirt on Andrew Cuomo’s accusers.
Text messages showed Chris Cuomo texting a top Andrew Cuomo aide and claiming to have a lead on one of the women that alleged Andrew Cuomo tried to kiss her without her consent at a wedding the two attended.
Initially, CNN tried to ride out the scandal by keeping Chris Cuomo on the air the day the New York State Attorney General’s office released its report.
But Cuomo’s position soon became untenable.
The following day CNN announced it suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely and that Anderson Cooper would take over hosting the 9 p.m. hour for the time being.
“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” CNN’s statement read. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions. When Chris admitted to us he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.”
CNN admitted it was forced to take Cuomo off the air because Cuomo misled the audience and network executives about the extent of his involvement in his brother’s scandal.
“However,” the CNN statement added, “these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”
From the start Chris Cuomo’s interactions with his brother were an embarrassment for CNN and proved CNN was not a news network.
In the spring of 2020 Chris Cuomo interviewed his brother multiple times in what became a comedy routine giving the false impression Andrew Cuomo deftly managed the coronavirus outbreak.
In reality, Andrew Cuomo and his administration tried to cover up the true number of seniors that died in nursing homes from the coronavirus after Governor Cuomo signed a controversial order mandating assisted living facilities take in coronavirus patients.
Back in March and April of 2020 it was clear that Chris Cuomo no longer operated as a journalist and instead served as a political operative for his brother.
It just took CNN 18 months to own up to this fact.
