There are some in the GOP that still want to expel Donald Trump.
That’s leading to some bad decisions.
And one Trump-hating RINO just made the biggest mistake of his life.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was the first establishment Republican to endorse Trump during the 2016 Republican primary.
Christie remained a supporter of Trump until turning on the president after echoing the corporate media narrative that Trump incited an insurrection on January 6.
Even though Christie’s 2016 presidential campaign ended in miserable failure Christie still harbors some delusion of winning the White House.
Christie made it clear he planned on running for president no matter what Trump decided about 2024 and in a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition, Christie launched the first 2024 broadside claiming Republicans could not win elections unless they moved past the 2020 content and looked forward.
That rebuke of Trump resulted in Trump ripping Christie in a statement blasting the former New Jersey governor for leaving office with a dismal approval rating.
Christie ended up politically toxic because of the “Bridgegate” scandal where Christie’s underlings supposedly arranged a traffic jam in Fort Lee at the toll plaza entrance to the George Washington Bridge as payback for a local Democrat mayor not endorsing Christie’s 2013 re-election campaign.
“Chris Christie, who just made a speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) in Las Vegas, was just absolutely massacred by his statements that Republicans have to move on from the past, meaning the 2020 Election Fraud. Everybody remembers that Chris left New Jersey with a less than 9% approval rating—a record low, and they didn’t want to hear this from him!” Trump’s statement read.
Christie’s on a media tour to promote his new anti-Trump book,“Republican Rescue,” and to raise his profile ahead of 2024 to own the establishment lane of party elites looking to ditch Trump.
Axios’s left-wing co-founder Mike Allen gladly teed up Christie to hit back at Trump asking him to respond to Trump’s attack.
“This is not an argument that I’ll walk away from,” Christie responded. “I think it’s much more productive to fight those policies than to fight with other Republicans.”
Christie then unleashed his scripted “zinger” that Christie won re-election whereas Trump lost.
“Mike, look, I’m not gonna get into a back-and-forth with Donald Trump,” Christie shot back. “But what I will say is this: When I ran for reelection in 2013, I got 60% of the vote. When he ran for reelection, he lost to Joe Biden.
“I’m happy to have that comparison stand up because that’s the one that really matters,” Christie concluded.
Chris Christie flamed out of the 2016 presidential race.
Christie supports amnesty for illegal aliens and banning guns and cut a profile as the stereotypical Northeastern moderate Republican.
And Christie’s presidential delusions ended after Christie meekly dropped out of the race after a dismal showing in the New Hampshire primary where Christie earned just seven percent of the vote whereas Trump won 35 percent of the vote and scored a landslide victory that catapulted Trump to the presidency.
Few believe Christie is any type of serious threat in 2024 as Christie is still a New Jersey RINO that attracts no support for the GOP base due to his liberal stances and turning on Trump.
Establishment Republicans will question his ability to win after running such a dismal 2016 campaign.
Should Chris Christie run for president in 2024 his campaign will likely crash and burn in a repeat of 2016.
