Progressivism on college campuses has spiraled out of control.
Universities have always been liberal, but now left-wing students are out for revenge on Trump supporters.
Now something terrible happened to a black conservative on this college campus.
Dia’mon Dallas, a student at First Coast Technical College in Jacksonville, was suspended indefinitely from school for posting a picture on Facebook.
The picture showed Dallas holding a firearm at a gun range.
Dallas is predictably suing the school for a clear violation of her constitutional rights.
Dallas’s lawsuit contests that she was “holding legally purchased and lawfully possessed firearms at a gun range in Palatka.”
Donna Gary-Donovan, the school official who suspended Dallas for her Facebook post, said Dallas was in possession of “illegal guns” and had a “mean look” on her face.
Dallas’s facial expression is irrelevant and it’s impossible to tell if a firearm is illegally possessed based on a still photo, so Gary-Donovan’s assertion is ludicrous.
It should also be noted that Gary-Donovan is white and Dallas is black, and in any other context, Gary-Donovan’s assumption of criminality and a “mean look” would be considered racially charged by the left, but liberals only care about their progressive agenda.
It’s truly terrifying that Dallas’ rights were violated, but even more so considering this was all based on a Facebook post.
It’s easy to see where this goes.
Anyone who posts a picture on social media with a “scary” and “shooty” gun and a “mean” look is susceptible to be barred from liberal institutions.
If anyone doubts the left would do this, he or she simply isn’t paying attention.
The same left that believes words are violence and that microaggressions are deeply hurtful, believe it’s acceptable to throw milkshakes at political opponents, roundhouse-kick pro-life activists, vandalize the home of Fox News hosts, and engage in a bevy of other fascistic behavior.
There is no line the left won’t cross when power is in their sights.
Gun rights have been on the agenda for a long time, and this First Coast Technical College case could start an awful trend.
Gay activists at Oregon State University tried to have a Veteran Students Association moved from the student lounge because it made them feel “unsafe.”
It’s not a big leap to see leftists at these schools push for gun-owning students to be suspended and expelled because of the “unsafe” environment they create.
This is blatant fascism out in the open.
The left isn’t embarrassed by it.
They celebrate and encourage it.
Dallas is moving forward with her lawsuit and hopefully, she gets her day in court.
A message needs to be sent to her school and others like it.
We can’t lose our rights unless we give them away.
If a school can ban a student and impact her future job prospects because she legally posted a picture on Facebook where she legally held a firearm at a legally operated gun range, they can do just about anything to students who hold the wrong opinions.
