House Republicans passed one of the signature campaign promises with the Parents Bill of Rights.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy explained that the Parents Bill of Rights would ensure parental involvement in their children’s education by making them aware if teachers are indoctrinating students with critical race theory or gender insanity, allow parents access to school budgets, defend privacy from teachers trying to groom their children into homosexuality or transgenderism, and keep them up to date on violent incidents at their child’s school.
“The Parents Bill of Rights has 5 pillars to ensure parents have the right to have a voice in their kids’ education: Right to know what’s being taught in schools and to see reading material; Right to be heard; Right to see school budget and spending; Right to protect their child’s privacy; [and] Right to be updated on any violent activity at school,” Speaker McCarthy stated.
Only in the modern-day Democrat Party could making sure parents know what is being taught in their child’s school and if their kid is safe on school grounds be considered controversial.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to the floor of the House of Representatives to rant and rave about how protecting the rights of parents to involve themselves in their children’s educations is “fascism.”
“When we talk about progressive values, I can say what my progressive value is, and that is freedom over fascism,” Ocasio-Cortez raged.
Conservatives were quick to mock Ocasio-Cortez.
“BREAKING: Unhinged socialist doesn’t know what fascism is and wants to cut genitals off children,” commentator Dave Rubin tweeted.
“Republicans’ Parental Rights Bill is arguing against state-run Woke indoctrination, it is essentially ‘anti-fascist,’” podcast host Kyle Becker posted on social media.
“Fascism requires state indoctrination of a populace in order to support the regime. That is what the Democrats crave — complete control of the state, society, and economy,” Becker added.
The pandemic was a wake-up call for parents who were not previously politically active.
School closures and remote learning caused by COVID allowed parents to see for the first time how woke activists tried to groom their children into transgenderism or brainwash students into hating America or each other with the Marxist critical race theory.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis forged the path to victory for the GOP in this area.
DeSantis was the first red state governor to sign legislation banning critical race theory and indoctrinating children into transgenderism in the classroom.
After signing these laws DeSantis won re-election by 19 points.
Parents’ rights in education is a popular issue.
Republicans are on the right side of public opinion.
And Ocasio-Cortez is branding Democrats as the enemies of parental participation in their kids’ schooling with her insane rant about fascism.
