CNN spent four years waging war on Donald Trump.
It cost the network their credibility.
And CNN got busted for lying about Donald Trump in one unbelievable way.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
Former Deputy Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Cliff Sims exposed on Wednesday that he warned CNN reporter Natasha Bertrand that Hunter Biden’s laptop was not Russian disinformation before she wrote her hit Politico story which has now been totally discredited, according to Breitbart.
However, Bertrand went forward with the story regardless.
On October 19, 2020, Bertrand, then-reporter for Politico, approached Sims about a piece she was writing about 51 former information officials who claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop story looked like Russian disinformation.
Sims told Bertrand that the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop were not Russian disinformation, citing information from then-Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe.
“51 former intelligence officials lied to the public with deliberation and premeditation to influence a presidential election, and the national press abetted them.” Sims tweeted on Wednesday.
He added, “None of them — Schiff, the former Intel officials who lied about the laptop…the journalists involved — have ever admitted they were wrong. And these headlines remains on @politico to this day.”
Sims attached a photo of the article that Bertrand wrote in 2020.
Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has promised that Republicans will subpoena the 51 signers of the letter which claimed that in their expert opinion, “the Russians are involved in the Hunter Biden email issue.”
“Those 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was all wrong — was Russia collusion — many of them have a security clearance,” McCarthy said during an appearance on Fox News’ “One Nation” earlier in the month.
“Why did they sign it? Why did they lie to the American public? A Clapper, a Brennan?” McCarthy asked, referring to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan who both signed the letter. “Why did you use the reputation that America was able to give to you — more information — but use it for a political purpose and lie to the American public?”
In March the New York Post reached out to those who signed the letter, none apologized or were remotely sorry for the misinformation that they spread.
In fact, Clapper even doubled down, defending what he said in the letter.
“Yes, I stand by the statement made AT THE TIME, and would call attention to its 5th paragraph. I think sounding such a cautionary note AT THE TIME was appropriate,” Clapper said according to the New York Post.
Recent polling has found that 71% of Americans believe accurate reporting of Hunter’s laptop could have altered the 2020 presidential election.
