Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s social media brawling helped establish the freshmen Congresswoman as one of the leaders of the Democrat Party.
But sometimes when you play with fire you get burned.
And now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is neck deep in this scandal that will ruin her.
The latest target of Ocasio-Cortez’s fire is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
What attracted Ocasio-Cortez’s “Eye of Sauron” was a photograph from a Fancy Farm event in Kentucky where a group of teenage boys wearing McConnell campaign t-shirts were mocking a cardboard cutout of Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez ripped McConnell for supposedly condoning “groping and choking” attacks on women.
Hey @senatemajldr – these young men look like they work for you.
Just wanted to clarify: are you paying for young men to practice groping & choking members of Congress w/ your payroll, or is this just the standard culture of #TeamMitch?
Thanks. https://t.co/ysRJuwonUx

McConnell’s campaign responded, but the media blatantly lied about what McConnell’s campaign actually said.
““Boys will be boys.” Is that also the reason why you’ve chosen to block the Violence Against Women act too, @senatemajldr ? It prevents dating partners w/ records of abuse + stalking women (also an early warning sign from many mass shooters) from obtaining a gun,” Ocasio-Cortez said in response to the McConnell campaign’s statement on the matter.
But this was a lie.
McConnell nor his campaign ever said “boys will be boys” to excuse the image.
“Boys will be boys” was a fake quote invented by liberal fake news website The Daily Beast.
“After Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for a photo posted on Facebook of a group of young men wearing “Team Mitch” shirts shown choking and groping a cardboard cutout of the Democratic congresswoman, the Senate majority leader’s campaign manager initially responded by saying, in essence, boys will be boys,” The Daily Beast falsely claimed.
In fact, the McConnell campaign used no such language to respond to the photo.
What the McConnell campaign did say was that the behavior was inappropriate – but also called out the media for trying to destroy the lives of high school students who weren’t even affiliated with the Senate Majority Leader’s re-election efforts.
“Team Mitch in no way condones any aggressive, suggestive, or demeaning act toward life sized cardboard cut outs of any gender in a manner similar to what we saw from President Obama’s speechwriting staff several years ago,” McConnell’s campaign added.
The liberal media has a habit of lying about incidents involving high school boys from Kentucky.
Back in January, the fake news media smeared the students from Covington Catholic as racists and falsely reported that they surrounded and taunted a professional political activist who had actually initiated the confrontation.
The Daily Beast attempted a similar smear campaign against the high school students posing with the Ocasio-Cortez cutout.
So-called “journalists” lose their minds when Donald Trump calls them fake news or the enemy of the people.
But The Daily Beast fabricated a quote that a sitting member of Congress then used to attack high school students.
That is the very definition of fake news.
