The media is claiming Joe Biden is the president-elect despite growing evidence of voter irregularities in the 2020 election.
But Biden and the Democrats did not receive the mandate they had hoped for.
And the New York Times is still furious over one surprising election result.
The Democrats were certain they were going to win with a Blue Wave election.
Pollsters had Biden winning by double-digit points and the Democrats picking up seats in the House, Senate, and state legislatures.
None of that happened.
Biden eked out an electoral college win in a few key swing states, albeit with a specter of voter irregularities.
The Democrats fared far worse down the ballot.
Republicans were able to defend the Senate, maintain majority control of the state legislatures, and pick up several seats in the House.
Trump secured 55% of the considerable Cuban American vote in the state of Florida, and Republicans flipped a handful of House seats.
The disappointing performance in Florida rankled New York Times Miami bureau chief Patricia Mazzei, who is still grappling with the Democrats’ defeat in the Sunshine State.
Mazzei wrote in her piece:
“No other place has quite the same mix of Republican-friendly Hispanics, led by conservative Cuban-Americans. And the Trump presidency has strengthened their hand, forcing Miami to reckon with hard and contradictory truths about immigration, racism and power.”
There’s nothing contradictory about Trump’s support among Cuban Americans.
That population has always been more receptive to Republicans, and with good reason.
In the aftermath of the election, leftist journalists like Mazzei began accusing Cuban Americans of “whiteness” – a state of being that they deemed as malleable.
“Whiteness” now applies to Cubans and the other nonwhites who voted for Trump at a higher rate than any other Republican since 1960.
Mazzei continued:
“Some reckoning took place over the summer, when it became evident that relatively few Latinos, especially Cuban-Americans, were showing up at local protests against police brutality that mirrored others across the nation, causing consternation among more liberal Hispanics.”
It only caused consternation for those liberals because they only see the country through the prism of race.
Most Americans were not in favor of the excesses of the protests, which often turned violent and destructive.
Mazzei added:
“It did not help Democrats that, during the summer’s Black Lives Matter protests, some demonstrators in Miami waved flags depicting Che Guevara — a brutal revolutionary despised by Cuban exiles — and defaced a Christopher Columbus statue with graffiti of a Soviet-style sickle and hammer.”
The fact that Mazzei is confused how Latinos in Miami could vote Republican after episodes like this is baffling.
Cubans and Venezuelans fled socialist hellscapes to come to America.
They don’t want to see it take root on these shores.
It’s not a mystery why Latinos in Miami voted for Trump; the Democrats have gone insane.
