Joe Biden is counting on the liberal media to cover up his failures.
That won’t last for very long.
Trey Gowdy dropped the hammer on Joe Biden with the truth about this massive failure.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
On his Sunday night Fox News program, former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy interviewed former co-chair of the 9/11 Commission Tom Kean.
Gowdy and Kean discussed the lessons learned from 9/11 as well as Joe Biden’s disastrously executed end to the war in Afghanistan.
During the interview Gowdy asked Kean about the original decision to launch military operations in Afghanistan following the 9/11 terror attacks and the Taliban refusing to turn over Osama bin Laden.
“We need to remember at the moment why we went into Afghanistan to begin with. Because that’s where the terror came from, that’s where Bin Laden trained the fighters, that’s where all the planning originated, and that’s where the attack came from. We were in Afghanistan because we asked the Taliban to give up Bin Laden and stop supporting him. They said no,” Kean stated.
Kean explained that America invaded Afghanistan to go after Al-Qaeda, not to build a democratic society.
“Now we got to look at Afghanistan. Is that again going to be a breeding ground for terrorists? Because if it becomes a breeding ground for terrorists again, if Al-Qaeda or ISIS or any of those planning attacks against the homeland again, we’re going to have to send troops back in. There’s no question about it,” Kean added.
Gowdy asked Kean if Joe Biden accomplished that goal of clearing out terrorist networks so Afghanistan could no longer serve as a breeding ground for a potential new 9/11 attack.
Kean – a former moderate Republican governor from New Jersey – diplomatically responded that the answer was unclear.
“We don’t know that yet,” Kean responded. “No question that we know ISIS is there and we know Al-Qaeda is still there. But whether or not they have breeding grounds and they will have new attacks on the homeland, we don’t know that yet.”
It is true that both the Al-Qaeda and ISIS-K terror groups operate in Afghanistan.
Joe Biden’s bungled withdrawal plan – where he junked Donald Trump’s May 1 date to remove all U.S. forces – meant American forces left Afghanistan in the middle of the spring fighting season making it easier for the Taliban to seize power.
Tom Kean – who co-chaired the commission that investigated the failures that led to the 9/11 attack – expressed his concern that Joe Biden so badly mucked up the withdrawal from Afghanistan that Biden made it more likely Afghanistan could serve as the planning base of operations for another terror attack that would force U.S. troops to return to Afghanistan.
