Joe Biden’s administration is big government on the war path.
But no one thought Biden would go this far.
Joe Biden proposed banning one household appliance that will enrage every American.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
While liberals have been outspoken saying that the government doesn’t belong in the bedroom, President Joe Biden does think that the government belongs in Americans’ kitchens.
The Biden administration is considering a nationwide ban on gas stoves dressing up their climate change alarmism with claims that recent studies showed emissions from the devices cause health problems.
They are basing the move on a recent study that found children who live in a home with a gas stove are 12% more likely to have childhood asthma, according to a report published last month by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
Brady Seals, co-author of the study, just so happens to be a manager at the think tank RMI’s Carbon-Free Buildings program.
“This adage of, ‘If it’s bad for the climate, it’s probably bad for your health,’ led us to start researching this topic about three years ago,” Seals said.
The “study” was produced by environmental activists already looking to push social change rather than good science.
“RMI and Rewiring America, another electrification group that helped author the study, advocate for building codes that ban gas hookups in new construction,” Insider reported.
The Biden administration doesn’t seem to care about the fact that the authors of the study had a conflict of interest or bother to understand that correlation doesn’t mean causation; instead of following good science, they are leaping to the option of controlling the American population, or at least the 40% who own gas stoves.
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said in an interview with Bloomberg on Monday that “any option is on the table,” claiming that the pollutants were a “hidden hazard.”
“Products that can’t be made safe can be banned,” he said.
Trumka added the ban on new gas stoves is a “real possibility,” and said that given enough public pressure, the agency “could get a regulation on the books before this time next year.”
“Ventilation is really where this discussion should be, rather than banning one particular type of technology,” said Jill Notini, a vice president with the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers according to the New York Post.
“Banning one type of a cooking appliance is not going to address the concerns about overall indoor air quality,” she added. “We may need some behavior change, we may need [people] to turn on their hoods when cooking.”
