Fox News tried to keep the reason executives fired Tucker Carlson a secret.
That proved to be easier said than done.
And a Republican Senator broke some bad news about why Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News.
As Conservative Revival reports:
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville called for a boycott of Fox News during an interview with Newsmax’s John Bachman.
Bachman asked Tuberville about Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch caving in to demands from Chuck Schumer to fire Carlson after he had played a video that debunked the Democrat Party’s narrative about January 6 being an “insurrection.”
“And lastly, Senator, real, real quick, you know, we have a clip. We’re going to play a little bit of Chuck Schumer. He was on the floor of the Senate talking about Tucker Carlson, basically imploring Rupert Murdoch to silence Tucker Carlson. To some, it seems like this is Rupert Murdoch capitulating to Chuck Schumer and other people that wanted other conservative voices silenced. What’s your read on it?” Bachman asked.
Tuberville responded by noting that he’d been a loyal Fox News viewer for 15 years – but how that all ended the day Fox News canceled Tucker Carlson.
“Well, yeah, for 15 years, I woke up to Fox News and go to bed with Fox News, now I’m waking up to Newsmax and going bed with Newsmax,” Tuberville began.
Tuberville blasted Rupert Murdoch and his children as liberals – the Murdochs support amnesty, banning so-called “assault rifles,” and combatting climate change – who continually fire their conservative hosts like Glenn Beck, and now Carlson, once they build a following that’s opposed to the Murdoch family’s globalist agenda.
“I’m sick of it. Let them talk and speak how they want to speak. Get out of the damn way. This is a free country. But Glenn Beck, everybody that they’ve fired over there, this is a liberal family that’s trying to make a name for themselves,” Tuberville added.
Tuberville said canning Tucker Carlson would come back to bite Fox News if other conservatives joined him in boycotting the network.
“And they have just cost themselves a lot of money, folks. If you’re on Fox, turn it off. Go to Newsmax, go to one of the conservative stations. Get away from this mess because it’s absolutely a crime. And what this Murdoch family’s doing,” Tuberville concluded.
A viewer boycott could cripple Fox News. Fox News – like all media TV channels – gets the biggest chunk of its revenue from the fees it charges cable companies to carry the network.
If Fox News viewership fell due to viewers boycotting the Murdoch family trying to move Fox News to the middle by firing Carlson, Fox News carriage fees from cable companies would plummet.
That’s what Tommy Tuberville meant by Fox News costing itself a lot of money by firing Carlson.
