Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the rising stars in the Republican Party.
There is much speculation that DeSantis will run for president in two years.
And Ron DeSantis turned everything upside down by attending one closed door meeting.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
Donald Trump made it clear in an interview with liberal writer Olivia Nuzzi of New York Magazine that it is only a matter of when and not if he will run for president.
Trump said his decision came down to announcing before or after the midterm election.
Part of Trump’s calculus is that by announcing earlier it will freeze the 2024 field as several Republicans – former Vice President Mike Pence, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton – intend to run no matter what Trump does.
But the one Republican that is gathering the most momentum is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis raised over $100 million – far more than is necessary for a re-election campaign for the governorship of Florida.
Over the last two years no Republican in America racked up as many conservative wins as DeSantis.
DeSantis banned mask mandates in schools and vaccine passports for businesses and became the face of the increasingly popular resistance to Joe Biden and Dr. Fauci’s fascist COVID biomedical security state.
And DeSantis scored a two-fer in a win over woke corporations and woke ideology in schools.
Disney tried to kill the Parental Rights in Education bill which banned teachers from grooming children in grades K-3 into transgenderism.
After Disney lied about the bill, DeSantis signed legislation stripping Disney of its special tax and governing privileges that allowed the woke corporation to operate as its own city state.
Now it looks like DeSantis is taking the next step toward running for president in 2024.
DeSantis is hosting a meeting in Florida of his top donors and fellow governors in what is seen as a very clear step toward building a network of endorsers and financial backers that is a necessary cog in any national campaign.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantisrecently held a confab of dozens of his top national donors as well as a handful of fellow Republican governors and prominent candidates he’s close to as he runs for reelection and eyes a presidential run in 2024, according to two sources familiar with the event.
Attendees at the event in Fort Lauderdale — which sources described as the most significant assembly of Republican governors outside of the RGA so far this year — included Govs. Kim Reynoldsof Iowa, Henry McMasterof South Carolina, Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma and Bill Lee of Tennessee, Arkansas gubernatorial candidate and former Trump White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former Maine Gov. and current gubernatorial candidate Paul LePageand Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt.
Conservative media influencers in attendance included Buck Sexton, Lisa Boothe and Josh Hammer.
Polls show that Ron DeSantis is a clear second to Donald Trump.
A survey out of the key state of New Hampshire even showed DeSantis leading President Trump.
But early polls at this stage are not predictive.
However, what is obvious to all is that Ron DeSantis is a growing force in the GOP and plans to run for president in 2024.
