Democrats are in trouble.
The warnings are coming from everywhere.
And Trey Gowdy told Nancy Pelosi the one thing no Democrat wanted to hear.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
The Senate passed a $1.2 trillion so-called “infrastructure” bill that Democrats assumed would serve as a down payment on a $3.5 trillion scheme to impose the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Green New Deal and turn America into a cradle-to-grave socialist welfare state.
But moderate Democrats want a smaller socialist spending bill and Ocasio-Cortez and her allies are threatening to tank the smaller bill, which moderates would like to campaign on next year, by voting down the $1.2 trillion so-called “infrastructure” bill.
Pelosi promised to hold a vote on the $1.2 trillion spending bill on September 27, but moderate Democrats will not agree to support the $3.5 trillion Green New Deal and socialist spending bill that Bernie Sanders is drafting in the Senate.
That deadline – combined with Democrats faced with a debt ceiling deadline on September 30 – threw the entire Biden legislative agenda into chaos.
If Pelosi cannot deliver the Biden presidency may very well die on the spot.
Pelosi initially tried to bully moderate Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema into voting for the Sanders bill by holding the $1.2 trillion bill hostage saying it will get voted down unless Manchin and Sinema agree to trillions in new spending designed to turn America into a socialist nation.
Appearing on Fox News’ “Special Report,” former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy mocked the idea of Pelosi intimidating Manchin and Sinema into following Bernie Sanders over a cliff.
Gowdy pointed out the Senate was evenly divided 50/50 and if the country really wanted to live under Bernie Sanders’ vision for America the public would have elected him president in 2020.
“Well, I can tell you, Brit, she ain’t going to herd Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin. She maybe could get House in order. I’m not sure she can. But I guarantee you she is not going to get Senator Sinema in order. Harold is right, it’s a 50-50 country. Bernie Sanders was too crazy to even be the nominee of the Democrat Party. So why would the entire country let him set the agenda? It’s a narrow majority. And Republicans would be wise to ask, why is Elizabeth MacDonough having to save the republic? Because you can’t win a Senate seat in Georgia, that’s why,” Gowdy stated.
The corporate media often presents Nancy Pelosi as a master strategist and vote counter.
But in this case her strategy of trying to link the two multi-trillion-dollar spending bills may be her ultimate undoing because she has no idea how her caucus will vote.
