The Democrat Media Complex did something that should terrify all Americans.
The oligarchs of Silicon Valley have successfully conspired to silence the President of the United States.
But Devin Nunes wants to fight back against big tech with one bold move.
Big tech made the unprecedented move of banning Donald Trump from every single social media platform.
Worse yet, they destroyed the social media app Parler, which was the conservative foil to Twitter’s left-wing platform.
Parler was banned from both Apple and Google’s app stores – the two tech giants that account for the overwhelming majority of smartphones in the United States where roughly 80% of social media posts are made.
But the deathblow came when Amazon barred Parler from using their web hosting services, meaning Parler had no way for users to access the site all.
The Democrats of big tech essentially conspired to put a hit out on Parler.
But Congressman Devin Nunes announced his plans to fight back.
During an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Nunes said the big tech companies need to be slapped with a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) investigation.
“The effect of this is that there is no longer a free and open social media company or site for any American to get on any longer, because these big companies – Apple, Amazon, Google – they have just destroyed a — what was likely — Parler is likely a billion-dollar company…Poof, it’s gone. But it’s more than just the financial aspect to that. Republicans have no way to communicate. If — it doesn’t even matter if you’re a Republican or conservative,” Nunes said.
Even principled left-wingers and foreign politicians like German chancellor Angela Merkel expressed deep concern about the authoritarian move.
Their points were if the president of the United States can be summarily de-platformed, anyone can.
This is the type of action seen taken by the Chinese Communist Party – which they implement a terrifying censorship protocol.
Nunes continued:
“If you don’t want to be regulated by left-wingers that are at Twitter and Facebook and Instagram, where you get shadowbanned, nobody gets to see you…they get to decide what’s violent or not violent; it’s preposterous…So, I don’t know where the hell the Department of Justice is at right now or the FBI. This is clearly a violation of antitrust, civil rights, the RICO statute. There should be a racketeering investigation on all the people that coordinated this attack on not only a company, but on all of those like us, like me, like you, Maria. I have 3 million followers on Parler. Tonight, I will no longer be able to communicate with those people. And they’re Americans.”
Nunes previously filed a huge lawsuit against Twitter and conservative pundits have been warning about the threat of a big tech monopoly for years.
It’s time to speak out against big tech’s censorship and begin investing in alternative infrastructures so this cannot ever happen again.
