Nancy Pelosi already has enough problems on her hands heading into the midterm elections.
Now there is a brewing crisis in her own backyard.
And that’s because Nancy Pelosi got called out by one Democrat that could ruin her.
As Great American Daily reports:
Democrats doubled down on their pro-abortion extremism following the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion showing a five-justice majority poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was one of the many Democrats seizing on this leak to try and fire up the party base ahead of the midterm election.
But Newsom went a step further calling out the national Democrat Party for not fighting hard enough to protect abortion on demand.
“Where is the Democratic Party? Where’s the party?… We need to stand up. Where’s the counteroffensive?” Newsom ranted.
Newsom did admit that the pro-life cause was winning and that in the wake of a potential Supreme Court ruling wiping out Roe v. Wade, more states were getting ready to end the horror of abortion.
“Why aren’t we standing up more firmly, more resolutely?” Newsom added. “Why aren’t we calling this out? This is a concerted, coordinated effort and yes, they’re winning. They are. They have been. Let’s acknowledge that. We need to stand up. Where’s the counteroffensive?”
CBS’s “Face the Nation” co-host Margaret Brennan confronted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with Newsom’s comments.
Pelosi stammered that she could not believe Newsom would attack the Democrat majority in Congress.
“I have no idea why anybody would make that statement unless they were unaware of the fight that has been going on,” Pelosi responded.
“We have been fighting against the Republicans in the Congress constantly,” Pelosi added.
But Pelosi and the Democrats face a huge problem.
And that is Democrats do not have the votes in the Senate to break a Republican filibuster and ram through a bill permitting abortion up until the moment of birth through the Senate.
That leads to another problem for Democrats believing abortion is a Hail Mary to save their majorities in Congress.
Since Democrats lack the votes, their voters will watch as Democrats engage in “failure theater” and vote on bills they know cannot base.
And that will only further serve to depress Democrat voter turnout.
Democrats believe overturning Roe v. Wade is good for them politically based on bad polling data.
Pollsters ask vague or misleading questions that lead to skewed polling results falsely showing the majority of the country is pro-choice.
But in 2016, voters who listed the Supreme Court as their number one option broke for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton 58-41.
It was understood at the time that whoever won that election would make multiple Supreme Court selections and that Roe was on the line.
Voters understood those stakes and picked Donald Trump when Donald Trump specifically said he would appoint judges that would end Roe v. Wade.
