Nancy Pelosi crossed a big line.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz let her have it.
And Ted Cruz dropped the hammer on Nancy Pelosi with this reality check about elections.
As Conservative Revival reports:
Nancy Pelosi is looking at polling data showing Republicans holding a 17-point advantage in the question of which party’s voters are more enthusiastic to vote in November.
Since midterm elections are fundamentally about base mobilization that GOP lead on the enthusiasm sets the ground for an historic Democrat defeat.
Pelosi did what all politicians do when they get desperate, resort to fear to scare their voters into turning out.
In this case, Pelosi dipped back into the well to dredge up the falsehood that Republicans winning elections means the end of American democracy.
“It is absolutely essential for our democracy that we win. I fear for our democracy if the Republicans were ever to get the gavel,” Pelosi stated.
On her Fox News program, Laura Ingraham played the clip of Pelosi attacking the idea of American democracy before interviewing her guest, Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
“She’s already laying the groundwork for the possibility that her party may not accept the results of the midterms if Republicans take over Congress,” Ingraham began.
Ingraham cited the Democrats push to eliminate the Electoral College after Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016 despite losing the utterly meaningless popular vote.
“The ugly truth is, the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy hate our system and they also hate most of the voters. They want the entire Electoral College scrapped,” Ingraham added.
“If something is a threat to democracy, you cannot accept it as a result,” Ingraham concluded before introducing Senator Cruz.
Senator Cruz picked up on that blasting Democrats for refusing to accept election results when they lose.
Democrats objected to every single Republican Presidential election win in the 21st century.
Democrats objected to George W. Bush’s win in 2000 claiming the Supreme Court stole the election.
Democrats objected to President Bush’s win in 2004 pushing the deranged conspiracy that Diebold voting machines switched votes from John Kerry in Ohio.
And in 2016 Democrats objected to Donald Trump’s win latching on to the “Big Lie” that the Russians hacked the election and installed Donald Trump as President.
“They know they’re gonna lose and Nancy Pelosi’s not gonna go quietly,” Cruz told Ingraham. “She’s gonna scream, she’s already preparing to scream the election was stolen. And by the way, what she means by stolen [sic, Pelosi did not use the word ‘stolen’ when talking about the midterms] is people showed up to vote against Democrats. That’s what stealing the election is. And remember, Democrats don’t believe in democracy.”
“They don’t believe in democracy,” Cruz concluded.
Nancy Pelosi is just following the script.
Joe Biden already declared the midterm elections illegitimate unless Republicans drop their elections to a federal takeover of voting procedures that tilt the playing field in the Democrats favor.
When Democrats accuse Republicans of undermining democracy, it is really Democrats that have not accepted defeat in a presidential election since 1988.
