Notre Dame cathedral has been severely damaged by flames.
The symbol of western Christendom mysteriously caught fire, and liberals’ responses have been predictably terrible.
But the liberal media refuses to tell one truth about Notre Dame.
If you were unsure that the left was engaging in a war on Christianity, the Notre Dame fire should kill your skepticism.
Notre Dame cathedral was a monument to Christianity that took almost 200 years to build, meaning its original builder Bishop Maurice de Sully, King Louis VII, and Pope Alexander III never got to see its completion.
Obviously, several kings and popes didn’t live to see the finished product.
But it was a grand undertaking that relied on faith.
And now liberals mock it.
Rolling Stone wrote a horrendous column where the author said Notre Dame’s “burning feels like an act of liberation.”
The article also called Notre Dame nothing more than a “political monument” and questioned whether or not the cathedral should even be rebuilt.
Other leftists also objected to Notre Dame being called a symbol of western civilization, somehow linking that expression of thought to white supremacy.
Leftists are all about destruction.
During the French Revolution—the ideological movement that undergirds the left—the secular men of “reason” at the forefront of the movement, who executed people en masse, vandalized Notre Dame cathedral.
Leftists hate Christianity because it serves as a roadblock to their big-government agenda.
Also, liberals were quick to label the Notre Dame burning an accident, even though the investigation was less than 24 hours old.
The same left that speculated for two years about the American president being a Russian spy wouldn’t allow any speculation of the Notre Dame burning being an act of arson.
It crossed everyone’s mind that perhaps the fire could’ve been an act of Islamic terror, but that conversation was shut down immediately.
Nobody is rushing to judgment and blaming Muslims, but it shouldn’t be beyond the pale for the discussion to take place, especially in light of recent events.
The surge of France’s Muslim population has brought with it a rise in Islamic-inspired violence.
In 2015, 130 people were killed in Paris in one night by a group of radicals terrorizing multiple locations.
In 2016, 86 people were killed in Nice by a terrorist who drove a truck into a crowd.
And in 2018 alone, 875 churches in France were vandalized.
Last month, a small church in Paris was set on fire, and 11 other churches were vandalized that week.
There were 1,063 anti-Christian incidents reported in 2018.
All of these acts from 2018 can’t immediately be tied to radical Muslims, but France clearly has an extremism problem.
Almost 2,000 French citizens left the country to go fight for ISIS.
Barring people from talking about the problem isn’t going to make it go away.
This is precisely why free speech exists.
Pushing these types of discussions underground only makes them worse.
But the liberal media aren’t really about open inquiry.
They’re about controlling the narrative and denouncing anyone who doesn’t.
