The New York Times spreads dangerously false information.
The liberal paper now leans far to the left and is little more than a Democrat propaganda machine.
Now the New York Times just wrote complete nonsense about capitalism.
The radicals have seized control of the New York Times.
That was made abundantly clear after they forced the resignation of the op-ed editor for having the gall to publish an op-ed by a sitting Republican senator.
This is the same paper that won a Pulitzer Prize for the fraudulent history of the 1619 Project and published a wistful 100-year retrospective on communism.
Decades of indoctrination on college campuses—particularly in the social sciences and humanities where 40% of professors are openly Marxist—have spawned institutions that have been hollowed out by radical leftists.
The domestic terrorist group Antifa and the avowed communist group Black Lives Matter have been accepted into the mainstream left.
A Black Lives Matter organizer went on national television and said the group was prepared to “burn the system down” if their demands were not met.
Now the New York Times is actively attacking capitalism.
In a 16-page spread of various left-wing columnists, the Times pitched several socialist proposals under the banner, “The Economy We Need: How to save democracy from capitalism and save capitalism from itself.”
The collection of issues was a goodie bag of bad policies.
For example, one piece was pushing for a $15 minimum wage.
There is countless empirical evidence that shows artificially increasing the minimum wage leads to higher unemployment, which mostly impacts young people and low-skilled workers who need to get on the economic ladder.
Progressives like point to limited studies where hiking up the minimum wage didn’t lead to a drastic spike in job loss, but those studies discount how businesses defrayed costs in other ways by rolling back hours and fringe benefits.
And in certain sectors, a $15 minimum wage would be crushing.
For example, waiters have a $2.20 minimum wage, but they make considerably more with tips.
Increasing their minimum wage would lead to over a 600% increase in labor costs, which would be devastating for a business.
Even people in the service industry don’t want to see their tip-heavy income threatened by ridiculous minimum wage laws.
Another Times’ piece was calling for single-payer healthcare.
A decade ago, Democrats swore they didn’t want single-payer healthcare, just Medicaid expansion and perhaps an option on the public sector.
Now they’ve dropped all pretenses and openly advocate for government-controlled healthcare.
This would be disastrous because everything the government touches becomes less efficient and more expensive.
Healthcare rationing and long waiting periods would become a plague.
And of course the elites who push for this policy would exempt themselves by flying overseas to get immediate treatment.
The Times’ piece also called for slavery reparations.
What a shock that leftists want to spend more money and see the government take over more facets of American life.
