Jen Psaki was sweating bullets.
The nightmare scenario turned out to be very real.
And Jen Psaki broke this very disturbing news to Joe Biden.
Donald Trump leads Joe Biden in the national polls.
A survey by respected pollster Anne Seltzer finds Trump routing Biden by seven points.
Polls also show Trump ahead of Biden in all seven swing states – and five of those Trump leads are all outside the margin of error.
There are still seven and a half months until the general election.
But as baseball legend Yogi Berra once said, “It’s getting late early.”
That’s the message Jen Psaki tried to communicate to the hosts and viewers of MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
Psaki warned that third party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy are major obstacles Joe Biden needs to overcome if he has any hope of making a comeback.
“These third-party candidates are a huge problem. If you look at RFK, it’s the name recognition issue. There are still states in this country where the Kennedy name is beloved, where they may not know a lot about the fact that he is an anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist. They don’t know that yet. There is an aggressive effort that the campaign has been working with the Democratic National Committee on, to run on this, but it needs to be broad. People need to be shouting it from the rooftops because this is one of the biggest threats to Joe Biden being reelected, is these third-party candidates,” Psaki stated.
Joe Biden’s approval rating is under 40 percent.
Liberals never had any real love for Biden and only supported him in 2020 because they believed he was the strongest candidate to run against Donald Trump.
But the moral panic over Donald Trump receded as the media could only keep the public in a state of hysteria for so long and Americans remember that during the Trump administration, inflation was under control and the border was secure.
Psaki explained that the left’s indifference to Biden reflects in swing state polling where Robert F. Kennedy pulled a significant chunk of the vote.
“Michigan is a state where RFK Jr is polling at 10%. This is a place where Joe Biden needs to win, and RFK Junior is making a real threat to that. So it’s good we’re talking about it. It is a real threat. They’re aware of it, but more needs to be done and more people need to be talking about it and aware,” Psaki continued.
Psaki knew of what she spoke.
CNN polls showed Trump up by six points in Michigan and two in Pennsylvania over Biden, but Kennedy was included in the ballot test.
The poll showed a tied race between Trump and Biden in Pennsylvania in a head-to-head match up, but Kennedy’s 16 percent of the vote gave Trump the advantage.
Whoever wins Pennsylvania is very likely to win the election and Jen Psaki thinks it’s time to slam the panic button over Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s effect on the race.
