CNN is one of the most cartoonishly anti-Trump media outlets in America.
But CNN somehow found a new way to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
And Karoline Leavitt unleashed a reality check that hit CNN like a ton of bricks.
Democrats and the media keep aligning themselves on the wrong side of 80/20 issues just because President Trump picks the popular side in a fight.
One example is the left clenching their jaws around the issue of biological men in women’s sports and refusing to let go, even though the last election made it very clear that President Trump won over black and Hispanic men in part because of the left’s obsession with woke.
The latest 80/20 issue Democrats and the media lined up on the losing side of is deporting illegal alien terrorist gang members back to their home countries.
President Trump signed an executive order designating the Mexican cartels that traffic illegal aliens and deadly fentanyl into the country as terrorists.
Since Trump is against illegal alien terrorists, CNN decided to be their best friend.
Correspondent Isobel Yeung traveled to Mexico to interview a member of the Sinaloa cartel whose job it was to produce fentanyl.
Yeung presented the drug maker as a victim of President Trump’s authoritarianism.
“I mean, according to the Trump administration, you are a terrorist. I mean, the cartels have been labeled a foreign terrorist organization. What do you make of that?” Yeung wondered.
The cartel member presented himself as a humble family man looking to put food on the table.
“Well, the situation is ugly. But we have to eat,” the cartel member told Yeung.
Yeung then provided a platform for this cartel terrorist to speak directly to Donald Trump.
“What’s your message to Donald Trump if he’s watching this?” Yeung wondered.
CNN allowed the cartel member to blame Donald Trump and American citizens for the fentanyl crisis.
“My respect. According to him, he’s looking out for his people, but the problem is the consumers are in the United States. If there weren’t any consumers, we would stop,” the cartel members stated.
Sean Hannity asked White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt about this spectacle.
Leavitt told Hannity she was appalled at how CNN allowed a member of a foreign terrorist organization to attack the President of the United States and blame Americans for the evils he and his organization created.
“Well, it was fascinating to me, Sean. I was actually scrolling on Instagram when I came across this interview and it stopped me in my tracks, not just because they sat down with a member of a Mexican cartel that is now designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States government, but because of the nature of the questions of this notorious foreign terrorist,” Leavitt declared.
Leavitt explained that platforming terrorists and allowing them to spew their bile unchecked is why so few Americans trust the press.
“It — it was a softball interview, giving a platform to a notorious drug cartel that has killed American citizens. I thought it was quite despicable. But, again, this is just another reason why the — the trust in the legacy media is at an all-time low amongst the American public,” Leavitt added.
This isn’t the first time CNN handed over their airwaves to a terrorist.
In 1997, the network interviewed Osama bin Laden.
