Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is trying to build a national profile ahead of a 2028 Presidential campaign.
But this isn’t the way to go about that.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had everyone talking with this strange happening.
As conservative reboot reports:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Makes a Bizarre Claim at a Rally
One of the many problems with the idea of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez becoming a major national political leader is that it’s not clear how much she knows about politics.
Obviously as a member of Congress she has been able to absorb some things, and she certainly knows more now than when she first started, but she’s still very lacking in experience.
She made that clear once again during a strange moment on stage at a rally.
Ocasio-Cortez was in Idaho, and she tried to claim to the attendees of the rally that they really could flip Idaho to make it a Democratic state.
This raises questions about whether Ocasio-Cortez knows just how conservative Idaho is.
And furthermore, it raises questions about whether she knows how hard it is for either party to completely flip a state.
If she does not realize those things, then her tenure as the leader of the Democratic Party is not going to go well.
Ocasio-Cortez Says Idaho Can Be Turned into a Democrat State
According to the Idaho Press, “Over 12,000 people were in attendance Monday to ‘feel the Bern’ — a phrase that was thrown around in reference to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ two presidential campaigns. Attendees filled all of the seats while more stood on the stadium floor at the Idaho Ford Center.
“Lines of attendees snaked up the pathways into the stadium Monday, filling the stadium with supporters of two prominent liberal members of Congress. Up at a podium, Sanders was joined by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC.”
It was some of the comments that Ocasio-Cortez made during the rally which attracted headlines and puzzled some people.
She may have simply been trying to excite the crowd, but the claims that she made were so grossly unrealistic that they raised questions about her.
Here is part of what she said, according to the Idaho Capital Sun: “We’re here to flip this state. We might all come from different places, but we share so many of the same experiences.”
Another woman at the rally spoke in favor of abortion, saying: “We have created laws that criminalize health care providers and have led to almost 25% fewer OB-GYNs practicing in this state. We’ve seen labor and delivery units shut down. We’ve seen several attempts to repeal Medicaid expansion despite overwhelming public support. … It’s wrong, and we’re here to say, ‘Enough.’”
If Ocasio-Cortez knows anything about Idaho politics, she knows that is not the message to win over the state.
The problem is, it’s not clear that she does know much about the politics of different states.
Given that, it must be concerning for Democrats to imagine her leading their party despite her lack of understanding.
They’re going to have to scramble to contain her meteoric rise before it causes their party to crash and burn once again.
