Democrats can’t deny they are the party of open borders.
They just proved it once again.
And you won’t believe the favor Democrats just did for illegal aliens.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
A majority of Democrats voted against the Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act.
The bill, which was introduced by Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL), is an attempt to change the Immigration and Nationality Act to state that non-citizens and illegal immigrants “who have been convicted of or who have committed an offense for driving while intoxicated or impaired” by drugs or alcohol “are inadmissible and deportable.”
While 150 Democrats voted against the bill on Thursday, 59 Democrats joined with all 215 Republicans to approve the legislation.
“The good news is 59 Democrats wised up and voted for my bill,” Moore posted on X.
“The bad news is President Biden is still allowing thousands of unvetted illegals to flood into our country and endanger American families,” said Moore.
Moore spoke in a speech before the bill passed about a couple he had known personally, Angel and Jeremy Seay, who were killed by a drunk driver who was an illegal immigrant.
“Angel and Jeremy were riding their motorcycle together when an illegal immigrant under the influence of alcohol collided into them with his pickup. Their lives were cut dramatically short. Sadly, tragedies like this are not uncommon across our country,” he recounted.
Some Democrats agreed with Moore’s message.
Rep. Don Davis (D-NC), one of the Democrats who voted in favor of the bill, touted how the legislation “creates a new authority to deport any person unlawfully in the country who drives under the influence. We must uphold public safety at all costs.”
Other Democrats openly spoke out against the bill, including Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who said the bill was “dehumanizing our immigrant neighbors.”
The legislation “would mean that our immigrant neighbors who came here lawfully and who have resided in our communities for decades could be deported and ripped from their families due to one misdemeanor DUI conviction, creating a separate and unequal system of justice,” Tlaib said in a statement.
In 2020, Joe Biden told a Vice News panel he didn’t “count drunk driving as a felony.”
Biden was asked “what exact changes would you bring to ICE as an agency” and he responded saying he would fire any agent who attempted to deport illegal immigrants charged with DUIs.
“You change the culture by saying you are going to get fired. You are fired if, in fact, you do that. You only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that’s committed, and I don’t count drunk driving as a felony,” Biden said.
