Jen Psaki knew she had a tough job to do.
But that didn’t make what came next any less shocking to the senses.
And Jen Psaki went on TV and left viewers stunned into silence with what she said.
Joe Biden became the 12th president to deliver a farewell address.
But Biden didn’t offer an upbeat, forward-looking message to the American people that cast the achievements of his administration as building blocks for the next president.
Biden couldn’t give that speech because his disapproval rating is 61 percent and Americans fired his administration in November after judging it a failure.
Instead, Biden launched into an un-American rant where he whined that the Supreme Court wouldn’t let him put Donald Trump in jail.
Biden also complained that social media companies were no longer censoring conservatives.
“I’m equally concerned about the potential rise of a tech-industrial complex that could pose real dangers for our country as well,” Biden ranted.
“Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and disinformation enabling the abuse of power. The free press is crumbling. Editors are disappearing. Social media is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by lies told for power and for profit. We must hold the social platforms accountable to protect our children, our families and our very democracy from the abuse of power,” Biden added.
Of course Biden took no issue with the power amassed by the “tech-industrial complex” after it handed him the White House in 2020 by censoring the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story.
Jen Psaki did her best impression of a North Korean state television anchor in praising Biden’s speech and praised Biden for painting a picture of an America strong enough to withstand Donald Trump.
“A more traditional Joe Biden speech would have started with a listicle of accomplishments, which is I think what I expected. And instead, he started out with what was almost kind of this lengthy analogy about the Statue of Liberty and standing up to a storm — the storm we can all assume is Donald Trump and the Trump administration. And he said in the early part, it’s about who we are and who we stand for,” Psaki began.
Psaki claimed Biden’s farewell speech was really a rallying cry for the American people to take his mantle as a bulwark against Trump.
“The rest of the speech seemed to be setting up – not for what government and the Supreme Court and Congress and the president who’s going to sit here is going to do to protect you – but you are going to protect yourself,” Psaki added. “And I am not passing the baton to my successor, as he would do if it were Mitt Romney or someone else, but I’m passing it to you. And the last line was where he said, ‘it is now your turn to stand guard,’ which is so striking because it really, for me, meets the moment that we’re in.”
No one else besides Jen Psaki was impressed.
Commentary editor John Podhoretz declared it the worst presidential speech he ever heard.
“The first half of Biden’s farewell address sounds like it was written by ChatGPT. The second half: Like a column by Al Neuharth in USA Today in 1985. Pretty close to being the worst Oval Office speech, as a matter of rhetoric, ever delivered. Trying to think of a worse one,” Podhoretz posted on X.
Biden’s calls to jail and censor his opponents were completely unbecoming of a President of the United States.
And this speech cemented the fact that Biden will leave office a disgrace.
