But now CNN faced a fork in the road.

The left-wing media is in a death spiral following the 2024 election.
Donald Trump exposed the pro-Democrat press as the emperor with no clothes after thrashing Kamala Harris despite the media’s best effort over the last 10 years to defeat him.
New CNN CEO Mark Thompson announced the bill had come due.
The network would lay off hundreds of staffers.
“CNN plans to lay off hundreds of employees Thursday as it refocuses the business around a global digital audience, according to people familiar with the matter. The layoffs come as CNN is rearranging its linear TV lineup and building out digital subscription products,” CNBC reported.
CNN would also move shows based in New York or Washington to cut costs.
“The cuts will help CNN lower production costs and consolidate teams, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss nonpublic changes,” the CBNC report continued.
CNN positioning itself as a pro-Democrat propaganda channel is no longer a tenable business model following the election as viewers realized fake controversies like the Russia collusion hoax, the Ukraine impeachment hoax, and the January 6 insurrection hoax were less news stories then attempts at political messaging.
The week prior to Thompson’s announcement, CNN continued to hemorrhage viewers in the crucial primetime hours.
“CNN averaged 501,000 total viewers and 110,000 A25-54 viewers during primetime for respective declines of -3% and -13% compared to the previous week,” Adweek reported.
Compared to a similar time in 2024, CNN and its fellow pro-Democrat network MSNBC were shedding viewers at an alarming rate.
“MSNBC was down by -39% in total viewers and -51% in the demo. During total day, the network was down -35% in total viewers and -49% in the demo,” Adweek’s report continued.
CNN only performed slightly better than MSNBC.
“In primetime, CNN fell by -31% in total viewers and -23% in the demo. During total day, CNN was down by -11% in total viewers and -14% in the demo,” Adweek’s report went on to say.
Donald Trump was just amazed that CNN and MSNBC continued to exist and that if they continued to operate as Democrat Party comms shops then their business model would cease to exist.
“MSDNC is even worse than CNN. They shouldn’t even have a right to broadcast — Only in America!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
The media declared war on Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
The 2024 election provided for a clear winner in that conflict.
