Donald Trump swaggered into office intending to keep his campaign promises.
Right off the bat, the D.C. establishment got some bad news.
And Donald Trump drained the swamp with one daring move.
Donald Trump’s promise to end the weaponization of the government wasn’t just a rhetorical flourish on the campaign trail.
Trump was deadly serious.
Two weeks into Trump’s second term, interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin announced the firing of dozens of prosecutors who carried out Joe Biden’s vendetta against the January 6 defendants.
“The Justice Department abruptly fired dozens of prosecutors who worked on criminal cases stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, according to correspondence reviewed by POLITICO and an interview with one of the people who were terminated,” POLITICO reported.
The Trump administration removed a cabal of partisan prosecutors who Joe Biden hired on a provisional basis to handle the January 6 cases and tried to convert to permanent employees in his final weeks in office to protect them from getting fired.
“Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin emailed the employees just before 5 p.m. Friday, appending a memo from acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove revealing an effort to root out employees the Trump administration considers improperly hired by the outgoing Biden administration,” POLITICO also reported.
Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove wrote in a memo that the Justice Department wouldn’t tolerate meddling from Joe Biden’s forces to try and embed their loyalists.
“I will not tolerate subversive personnel actions by the previous Administration at any U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Bove stated. “Too much is at stake. In light of the foregoing, the appropriate course is to terminate these employees.”
Trump fired a group of prosecutors who terrorized Trump supporters using bizarre legal theories later struck down by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional.
But Trump didn’t stop there.
Trump also cleaned house at the FBI, marching 88 agents and managers out of their offices.
These agents were the ones who worked as the foot soldiers on Jack Smith’s witch hunts against Trump in the January 6 and classified documents hoaxes.

The idea that Donald Trump was going to take office and allow the deep-state henchmen who tried to indict and imprison him to remain on the job was laughable from the outset.
But Trump showed he wasn’t kidding when he said he would drain the swamp.
