Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis dreaded this outcome.
Willis’ day of reckoning is almost at hand.
And Fani Willis’ sex scandal led to her worst nightmare.
Fani Willis’ world is crumbling before her very eyes.
A judge ruled a State Senate committee could compel Willis to testify in their investigation into allegations of misconduct.
“In his Dec. 23 order, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shukura Ingram gave Willis until Jan. 13 to file a list of claimed privileges and objections to anything that has been subpoenaed,” Fox News reported.
Republicans in the Georgia legislature created this committee to rein-in out-of-control prosecutors that weaponized their office and abused power.
The committee began investigating Willis over allegations of financial misconduct and whistleblower retaliation.
Willis faced scrutiny after the bombshell discovery that she had hired her lover Nathan Wade to be the special prosecutor in the Trump 2020 election witch hunt.
Defense lawyers argued Willis received improper financial benefits as Wade used a portion of the $654,000 in taxpayer money he raked in for legal fees to pay for their extravagant lovers’ vacations.
A whistleblower also came forward alleging that Willis had fired her after she informed Willis that a campaign aide diverted federal grant money for personal use.
The State Senate committee investigating Willis subpoenaed Willis back in August.
But Willis skipped her scheduled date for testimony believing herself to be above the law.
Judge Shukura Ingram’s ruling reminded Willis that she’s not some regal figure who floats above democratic accountability.
State Senator Greg Dolezal told Fox News that Judge Ingram made the correct decision and it was time Willis got a reminder that in America there are checks and balances in co-equal branches of government.
“The law is clear, and the ruling confirms what we knew all along,” Dolezal told Fox News. “Judge Ingram rejected every argument made by Willis in her attempt to dodge providing testimony to the committee under oath. I look forward to D.A. Willis honoring the subpoena and providing documents and testimony to our committee.”
Dolezal also said he intended to reintroduce the bill creating the committee that investigated Willis in this legislative session to button-up the suspenders on any issues Willis could raise in her appeal of Judge Ingram’s ruling.
Fani Willis is now in the barrel.
This is quite the turn of events as the media initially hailed Willis as a tough-as-nails prosecutor who doggedly followed the facts when she indicted Donald Trump for what amounted to a made-up crime which was criminalizing Trump for asking for a recount.
Now it’s Willis who may face professional or legal sanctions.
