Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth couldn’t believe his eyes.
The Democrats enlisted a new ally to try and thwart the Trump administration’s momentum.
And Pete Hegseth faced one unthinkable attack from this Fox News reporter.
Donald Trump named Pete Hegseth as his Secretary of Defense to carry out the goal of rebuilding America’s military.
That started by eliminating woke ideology.
Hegseth told a town hall meeting of Pentagon employees that the phrase “diversity is our strength” had no place in the military.
America’s strength didn’t come from identity politics, it came from unity.
Hegseth also ended woke identity celebrations like Pride Month and Black History Month.
The fact that Hegseth was committed to the Trump agenda as opposed to paying lip service to reforming the military industrial complex rendered Hegseth a marked man in D.C.
Democrats turned to a tried-and-true tactic of inventing a fake scandal to try and smear Hegseth as a corrupt plutocrat living high off the hog on the taxpayers’ dime.
And none other than Fox News Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin joined this search-and-destroy mission.
Griffin linked to a letter House Democrats fired off to Hegseth demanding he explain $137,000 on home repairs to the residence afforded to the secretary of Defense when he planned to live at home.
“Dems on House Appropriations Committee ask why Sec Hegseth needs $137,297 for home repairs/paint for government residence, in light of DOGE efforts to save tax payer money?” Griffin wrote on X.

Hegseth replied to Griffin accusing her of a cheap shot and acting as a Democrat Party spokeswoman.
“Fake News of the Day (not surprising from Democrats & @JenGriffinFNC; same thing),” Hegseth wrote on X.
Hegseth noted – and this is something Griffin as a Pentagon beat reporter should have known about – that these repairs were scheduled prior to his confirmation and would have taken place even if someone else had been named secretary of Defense.
“Any/all house repairs were going to happen no matter who was moving in—and were all initiated by DoD,” Hegseth added.
Hegseth again lumped Griffin in with her partisan allies in the Democrat Party.
“But Dems/Jen don’t care about facts; they’re just Trump haters,” Griffin concluded.
Griffin’s history of hating Donald Trump is well known.
In 2020, Griffin claimed she confirmed the false story in The Atlantic about Donald Trump calling dead veterans “suckers and losers.”
In reality, the same source that fed The Atlantic that false story also passed it off to Griffin so Griffin could claim she “confirmed” it.
Tucker Carlson also mocked Griffin as a stenographer for Joe Biden’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin after Griffin attempted to push the deep-state company line about biolabs in Ukraine to “fact check” Carlson.
Carlson alluded to Griffin as one of the “so-called reporters you see on television” and that she is “acting secretly as a flack for Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon.”
Critics contend Jennifer Griffin’s coverage of the Pentagon includes repeating whatever the Democrat Party and deep-state spin of the day is.
Secretary of Defense Hegseth was just the first high-ranking official to call Griffin out on this charade.
