Louisiana Senator John Kennedy blindsided President Trump.
Kennedy is normally a staunch ally of the president.
But now John Kennedy defied Donald Trump in two major fights.
President Trump is caught in a pincer movement between lawless Democrat judges issuing unconstitutional orders granting themselves the power of the presidency to block Trump’s agenda and the Federal Reserve manipulating the economy.
The media created this false narrative about President Trump defying a court order by not returning an illegal alien terrorist from his home country of El Salvador to America.
Kennedy told NBC’s Kristen Welker that he would happily call out President Trump if he thought Trump defied a court order.
“Yes. And I don’t believe that President Trump will defy a federal judge’s order. If he does, I’ll call him out on it,” Kennedy stated.
Kennedy admitted Trump hasn’t yet defied a court order but claimed that was a line Trump shouldn’t cross.
“I love the rule of law. I love it like the devil loves sin. I think if we start not following federal judicial orders, we undermine the system entirely. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t criticize – you can criticize them. You can appeal them, but you can’t choose to not follow them. I haven’t seen President Trump do that, and if he does, I’ll say very loudly and clearly that I think he’s wrong,” Kennedy added.
Trump also criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for rigging the economy to benefit Democrats.
Powell slashed interest rates last September in a move widely seen as an attempt to juice the economy in the middle of the election in the hopes of electing Kamala Harris as president.
Trump slammed Powell for now keeping interest rates high which will drag down economic growth.
The president’s talked about firing Powell, yet Kennedy defended Powell.
“I don’t think the president, any president, has the right to remove the Federal Reserve chairman,” Kennedy told Welker.
Kennedy claimed the Fed needed to maintain independence even though Powell’s blatantly acted in the best political interests of the Democrat Party.
“I think the Federal Reserve ought to be independent,” Kennedy said, adding that Trump and Powell should “sit down and have a hug and a cup of hot cocoa and work it out.”
Kennedy offered full-throated support for Fed Chairman Powell even as President Trump ramped up his attacks on Powell.
“My experience with Jay Powell is that he’s got tiger blood,” Kennedy concluded. “He’s going to do what he thinks is right, and he’s not going to go down in history as the Federal Reserve chairman that allowed inflation to become wild as a March hare, and he’s going to do what he thinks he’s got to do.”
