No network has more detractors than Fox News Channel.
This time Fox faced an ultimatum it couldn’t fight.
And Fox News got hit with one legal threat that led to one unthinkable response.
Former Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski caused quite a stir at the House Oversight Committee’s public impeachment inquiry hearing.
Bobulinski – who warned back in 2020 that the Communist Chinese compromised Joe Biden through shady business deals with his family – explained he had documents, emails, text messages and eyewitness recollections to back up his allegations of Joe Biden’s corruption.
But the highlight came when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asked Bobulinski to name the crimes he saw Joe Biden commit and Bobulinski joked there wasn’t enough time in the day to do so before listing several including “RICO.”
That led to Ocasio-Cortez melting down and falsely claiming that RICO isn’t a crime.

Later on during an episode of “The Five,” liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov tried to discredit Bobulinski by falsely claiming he was a paid stooge of the Trump campaign.
“Tony Bobulinski’s lawyers’ fees have been paid by a Trump Super PAC that’s as recent as January,” she claimed before rehashing a false claim about Donald Trump. “Do you think that a guy who’s invested in how much better off he wants the United States to be—and really getting to the bottom of this—would be taking money from the guy who extorted the Ukrainians to get dirt on the Bidens?” Tarlov stated.
This led to Jesse Binnall, Bobulinski’s attorney, firing off a letter to Fox News warning that Tarlov lied and a Trump super PAC never paid Bobulinski’s legal fees.
Binnall warned that unless Tarlov corrected the record, Bobulinski would proceed with a defamation suit.
“This is unequivocally false and defamatory,” Binnall declared. “Indeed, no Trump Super PAC has ever paid Mr. Bobulinski’s legal fees. In fact, Mr. Bobulinski has paid over $500,000, in legal fees to numerous lawyers in law firms out of his own pocket since 2020. We write to demand an immediate retraction, on air, today, of this maliciously blatant lie. Let me be perfectly clear. We will immediately file a defamation lawsuit against Fox, and Ms. Tarlov, if this lie is not retracted by Ms. Tarlov on air today, March 21, 2024.”
The next day Tarlov backtracked and clarified her comments.
“I would like to clarify a comment I made yesterday during our discussion of Tony Bobulinski’s appearance at the congressional hearing. During an exchange with my colleagues about the hearing I said that Mr. Bobulinski’s lawyers’ fees have been paid by a Trump super PAC as recent as January. What was actually said during the hearing was that the law firm representing Mr. Bobulinski was paid by a Trump PAC. I have seen no indication those payments were made in connection with Mr. Bobulinski’s legal fees and he denies that they were,” Tarlov told viewers.
Fox News is used to facing lawsuit threats from the left.
But it was stunning to see a Fox host try and discredit the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden only to get slapped down.
