Joe Biden is on the verge of arresting Donald Trump a second time ahead of the 2024 election.
But Trump isn’t taking it lying down.
And Donald Trump made one demand about his arrest that turned everything upside down.
Anti-Trump special counsel Jack Smith sent Donald Trump’s lawyers a target letter announcing Smith intended to indict Trump on baloney charges including one absurd count using a law from the 1800s targeting the Ku Klux Klan.
Smith is arresting Trump a second time because his first arrest – and the arrest by fellow Democrat prosecutor Alvin Bragg – failed to dent Trump’s standing in the 2024 election.
In an interview with Fox News Trump reacted to Smith filing new charges in the Mar-a-Lago document witch hunt.
Trump blasted the move as obvious election interference.
The 45th president also bemoaned the fact that Smith indicted Trump’s chief maintenance worker as a means of harassing him.
“It’s election interference at the highest level,” Trump told Fox News. “They’re harassing my company, they’re harassing my family and by far, least importantly of all, they’re harassing me.”
Trump explained that the only reason Joe Biden unleashed Democrat prosecutors to arrest him was because he was running for re-election and doing well in the polls.
“This is prosecutorial misconduct used at a level never seen before,” Trump added. “If I weren’t leading Biden by a lot in numerous polls, and wasn’t going to be the Republican nominee, it wouldn’t be happening. It wouldn’t be happening.”
The timeline of events proves Trump correct.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Democrat prosecutor Jack Smith as special counsel in the Mar-a-Lago and January 6 witch hunt three days after Donald Trump announced his plans to run for re-election.
Alvin Bragg brought his sham indictment against Trump in early April at a time when polls showed Trump leading Biden.
“But I am way up as a Republican and way up in the general election and this is what you get,” Trump added.
Trump’s allies are not powerless.
Republicans control the House of Representatives.
And Trump wondered why Republicans aren’t pulling their levers of power to end the witch hunts into him.
“Hopefully the Republican Party will do something about it.” Trump declared.
Republicans could impeach Joe Biden for weaponizing the government to protect Hunter Biden and prosecuting Trump as a last-ditch effort.
Republicans could make defunding Smith’s office a condition to passing any government funding bills.
But instead of taking action, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy sent Congress home for a six-week summer recess without taking action to hold Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland or Smith accountable.
