Kellyanne Conway is one of Donald Trump’s top supporters.
But Conway was not prepared for what just happened on live TV.
And this Fox News host left Kellyanne Conway’s jaw on the ground with one unthinkable challenge.
It is highly likely that Donald Trump will skip the first GOP presidential debate slated for August 23 in Milwaukee and televised by Fox News.
Trump is running laps around his competitors in the polls and Trump believes Fox News is biased against him and setting a trap at the debate.
Fox News host Piers Morgan ambushed former Trump 2016 campaign manager and White House Senior Counselor Kellyanne Conway with a series of attacks on Trump blasting the 45th president as a “coward” for passing on the debate.
At first Conway admitted she thought it would be good for Trump to debate as Trump acquitted himself well in the 2016 primary debates.
“The more people who run, the more competition, the better for Donald Trump,” Conway began. “Trump loves competition. I think he should show up to the debate.”
“So do I,” Morgan declared.
Conway conceded that Trump is way ahead but reasoned that if Trump skips the debate the other candidates would attack him anyway so Trump might as well appear on stage to respond.
“He’s way ahead,” Conway added. “He’s got very little to gain, but why stay at home and watch them all talk about you?”
That’s when Morgan veered into personal attacks and began sliming Trump as a “coward.”
“Donald Trump is many things,” Morgan ranted. “But in all the time I’ve known him, I’ve never known him to duck a challenge or be a coward. So, if you’re watching, Donald, come on.”
Conway was not having any of that and noted that Donald Trump is just acting like every other frontrunner up 30 points in the polls who doesn’t want to give longshot challengers the appearance they are on the same level as him.
“He’s not being a coward at all,” Conway responded. “He’s being a frontrunner.”
But Morgan ignored that reality to continue taunting Trump about being a coward.
“No,” Morgan stated. “It’s cowardly. Get on that stage and show us what you’re made of. If you want to be president again, you gotta come out and face the debate music. Haven’t you? Come on, Donald. You know you want to secretly.”
“He remains the biggest star out there, but he has to turn up. Otherwise, your star can quickly wane,” Morgan raged.
Conservatives such as commentator Michael Knowles pointed out that Trump has nothing to gain by showing up to debate opponents he led by more than 30 points.
Trump is up 31.6 points according to the latest RCP average in a field of ten. Biden, the incumbent, is up 54 points in a field of three. Biden almost certainly will not debate his primary opponents. With such a sizable lead, why would Trump debate his?

Morgan’s needling about Trump being a coward may have more to do with him being a good corporate citizen than anything else.
Fox News lost more than one million viewers across primetime after it fired Tucker Carlson.
Executives believed the first GOP debate held the key to regaining its lost audience as conservatives would have no place to turn for coverage once the primary heated up.
In 2016 the first GOP debate on Fox attracted a record 25 million viewers thanks to Trump’s presence.
Without Trump on stage Fox will not attract nearly the audience it hoped for the debate.
And that’s why some suspect Morgan resorted to schoolyard insults to try and goad Trump into appearing at the Fox News debate.
