The American people reached their breaking point with woke politics infecting the world of sports.
You’ll be speechless when you see how bad the backlash really is.
And the NFL’s woke protest blew up in their face for this unbelievable reason.
Back in the summer of 2020, disgraced former Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder was feeling the heat.
Democrats in Congress launched an investigation into the team after several former cheerleaders came forward with disturbing allegations of sexual harassment and toxic work culture.
As the George Floyd riots raged and Democrats leaned into identity politics Snyder thought he could buy off the left by agreeing to their long-held woke demand to drop the Redskins team name, which white liberals in the media and left-wing politicians blasted as a slur against Native Americans.
In 2020, Washington played under the Washington Football Team name.
For the last two years, the Washington franchise has played under the name of the Commanders.
The ploy failed as Snyder sold the team earlier this year.
New ownership led by venture capitalist Josh Harris and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson conspicuously began using the Redskins nickname when talking about the team.
That led to speculation Harris and Johnson were planting the seeds to change the name back to the Redskins in effort to erase all the memories of Snyder’s disastrous 20-plus years owning the team.
The group most enthusiastic about changing the name back to the Redskins are Native Americans.
The Native American Guardians Association (NAGA) announced it acquired more than 100,000 signatures from people urging the team to readopt the Redskins nickname.
Kiowa Tribe member Billy Dieckman appeared on Fox News and explained how Native Americans viewed the Redskins nickname as a source of pride.
This comes as no surprise as, despite the media gaslighting about the name, polls showed around 90 percent of Native Americans were not offended by the Redskins team name.
Contrary to the belief of woke liberals in the media, Dieckman explained that Native Americans view the name “redskin” as a term that denotes elite warriors who proved themselves worthy and honorable in battle.
“The deep, rich history behind the name, the myth that it means bloody scalps or something derogatory is what we’re trying to dispel,” Dieckman told Fox News. “It’s a status symbol for elite warriors.”
Dieckman recounted how Snyder dropped the name without ever consulting Native Americans and arrogantly presumed to speak for all Native American tribes.
“Our fight is to reinstate this because it was taken away without consulting us, without any of our approval,” Dieckman continued.
Dieckman also said that the media and politicians who complained that the Redskins logo was a racist image were ignorant of its actual origins.
Dieckman stated that the logo was of an actual tribal chief and that the Blackfoot tribe gifted it to the Washington franchise to use the logo for life.
“The imagery that you see is that of Chief Two Guns White Calf,” Dieckman declared. “That’s a real person. There’s a lot of times they say you need to get rid of your mascot. We don’t have a mascot. That’s a real person that was gifted to the Redskins in the NFL by the Blackfoot tribe as a forever gift. That’s one of the greatest warriors of all time.”
Washington dropping the Redskins logo came at a time when the NFL embraced national anthem protests and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The league quickly realized it made a mistake and stopped promoting kneeling for the national anthem and the BLM protests.
Washington going back to the Redskins name would be the final step towards cleansing the woke mistake from the league.
