Joe Biden got caught stealing classified documents.
Now another prominent political figure has the same problem.
FBI search turns up classified documents at Mike Pence’s house.
As Conservative Revival reports:
Mike Pence thought he could ride the FBI raiding Mar-a-Lago in a document ownership dispute to attacking Donald Trump in the 2024 GOP presidential primary.
Pence went so far as to claim he never mishandled classified documents in a means of implying Donald Trump was reckless, irresponsible, and potentially criminal.
That strategy imploded when Pence’s lawyers turned up six classified documents at Pence’s Carmel, Indiana home.
The Pence team conducted that search after multiple searches of properties associated with Joe Biden turned up multiple batches of stolen classified documents going back to 1974.
FBI agents searched Joe Biden’s homes in Delaware and in turn searched Pence’s Indiana house.
The searched turned up another classified document that Pence’s lawyers missed the first time around.
“The vice president has directed his legal team to continue its cooperation with appropriate authorities and to be fully transparent through the conclusion of this matter,” Pence advisor Devin O’Malley stated.
O’Malley then tried to separate the Pence search from the Mar-a-Lago raid by adding that Pence and his lawyers “agreed to a consensual search of his residence that took place today.”
Pence and his wife were on the West Coast for a trip meaning Pence and the FBI arranged the search to occur at this specific time.
NBC News exclusively reports:
A source familiar with the search said DOJ was given unrestricted access to Pence’s home, and a member of his legal team was present through its duration.
The scope of the search included looking for documents that DOJ believed might be considered original documents that should have been sent to the National Archives, the source said, which could explain the six pages of additional material that were taken.
Pence and his wife Karen Pence were not home at the time, the source said. The former second couple went to the West Coast to be with their son and daughter’s military families, the source said, adding that both of the families had welcomed a new baby this week — the Pences’ second and third grandchildren.
This latest search creates two problems – one for Mike Pence and one for Joe Biden.
For Pence, it completely obliterates any chance to play to the GOP establishment attack Donald Trump over the Mar-a-Lago raid as Pence possessed more stolen classified documents than he originally claims.
And for Joe Biden it provides the final nail in the coffin on any attempt to indict and prosecute Donald Trump over the document ownership dispute.
