Hunter Biden’s scandal is turning into a legal and political crisis for Joe Biden.
Allies and opponents are both on the same page.
And Megyn Kelly and Jen Psaki agreed on one strange thing about Hunter Biden.
Even Democrats had a tough time defending the sweetheart plea deal that Joe Biden’s Justice Department handed Hunter Biden.
This plea agreement allowed Hunter Biden to avoid jail time and shut down investigations that threatened to expose Joe Biden’s role in a foreign influence peddling scheme which could result in impeachment proceedings or a criminal probe.
Days after skating by a prison sentence for the sole reason that he is the president’s son, Hunter Biden showed up at a state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he was photographed smiling, glad-handing, and strutting around like he owned the joint.
The fact that Attorney General Merrick Garland also attended the dinner conveyed the reality that the fix was in from the start and that the Bidens weaponized the Justice Department to protect themselves and target Donald Trump and his supporters.
Some of Biden’s allies in the corporate media tried to spin Joe Biden having Hunter Biden at the state dinner days after accepting a shady plea agreement as a Hallmark movie moment where a loving father stood by his troubled son.
Megyn Kelly was not having that at all.
On her podcast Kelly blasted Hunter Biden hobnobbing at a state dinner as the ultimate expression of the Biden family’s lawlessness.
“You can love your child and still recognize it would be inappropriate, given the circumstances, to bring him to something that is not your private party,” Kelly declared.
“It’s not your private party, Joe Biden,” Kelly added. “It’s our party. It’s the United States. It’s America, and Hunter Biden should not have been there!”
And surprisingly one of the voices who agreed with Kelly’s sentiment was none other than former White House press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki.
During an appearance on “Morning Joe,” Psaki conceded that the optics of Hunter Biden showing up at the state dinner days after accepting a sweetheart plea deal were not great.
“I think, you know, what we saw with Hunter appearing at the state dinner was, in my suspicion was the president, his son wanted to come, so his son’s going to come to the dinner,” Psaki stated.
“Was that optically easier for the White House and the White House communications team? Absolutely not,” Psaki continued.
What Americans learned in the subsequent days made the whole deal smell even fishier.
IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley told the House Ways and Means Committee that the Biden Justice Department prevented U.S. Attorney David Weiss from charging Hunter Biden with more serious felonies.
Shapley also said the Justice Department officials blocked investigators from asking questions about Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s business deals and hid the FBI FD-1023 form – which outlined allegations that a Burisma executive paid then-Vice President Joe Biden a $5 million bribe – from the team running the probe.
With the full context of the goings-on in the Hunter Biden investigation, Joe Biden inviting Hunter Biden to the state dinner looked more like the Biden family spiking the football and performing an end zone celebration over getting away with everything.
