Donald Trump routed Nikki Haley in the Super Tuesday primary contests.
But then Trump got some bad news.
And Nikki Haley made one endorsement announcement that left Joe Biden jumping for joy.
Donald Trump scored lopsided victories in 14 of the 15 Super Tuesday states.
Trump’s landslide wins cemented an insurmountable delegate lead that forced Nikki Haley to suspend her presidential campaign.
Bur Nikki Haley – like the establishment RINO that she is – refused to lose gracefully.
Instead of accepting the fact that Republican voters support Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda of a closed southern border, ending the war in Ukraine, and fair-trade deals for the American worker, Haley threw a temper tantrum over the fact that conservatives rejected her call to return the GOP to the days of John McCain and Mitt Romney.
“In all likelihood, Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee when our party convention meets in July. I congratulate him, and wish him well. I wish anyone well who would be America’s president. Our country is too precious to let our differences divide us,” Haley said in a speech announcing the suspension of her presidential campaign. “I have always been a conservative Republican, and always supported the Republican nominee. But on this question, as she did on so many others, Margaret Thatcher provided some good advice when she said, ‘never just follow the crowd, always make up your own mind.’”
Haley then refused to endorse Donald Trump and claimed it is up to Trump to heal the divide in the GOP.
“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him, and I hope he does that. At its best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away. And our conservative cause badly needs more people. This is now his time for choosing,” Haley added.
But exit polls showed a large chunk of Haley voters were Democrats and left-wing independents.
In New Hampshire, 43 percent of Haley voters said they wouldn’t back Trump in a general election.
20 percent of Haley voters in Virginia approved of the job Joe Biden is doing as president.
Haley recruited a bunch of Democrats to vote in a GOP primary to spite Donald Trump.
And Donald Trump was still the victor.
In coalitional politics the losing side needs to accept when they are a junior partner in the arrangement.
And the Romney/McCain/Cheney RINOs whom Haley represents had their turn in the 2008 and 2012 elections and lost badly both times.
Republican voters don’t want a return to those days.
Donald Trump’s continued dominance in the Republican Party owes in large part to the fact that establishment RINOs like Haley hate their voters, hate their voters’ values and don’t disguise the fact that they hate their voters and their voters’ values.
