Fani Willis is in big trouble.
Willis’ conduct could blow up her criminal case against Donald Trump.
And Fani Willis is terrified a judge will learn this damning truth about her sex scandal.
Willis and Nathan Wade are under increasing fire for their claims they didn’t begin their affair until after Wade began working on Willis’ criminal investigation into Donald Trump for contesting the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
Trump co-defendant Michael Roman filed a motion asking Judge Scott McAfee to disqualify Willis on the grounds that Willis financially benefited by hiring her lover who allegedly used taxpayer money to pay for the two to travel the world on luxury vacations.
Willis and Wade both testified that the relationship didn’t begin until after Wade began working the Trump case.
One witness, former Willis friend Robin Yeartie, impeached that testimony telling the court that Wade and Willis began dating in 2019.
Defense lawyers also subpoenaed former Wade law partner Terrence Bradley to testify as he has knowledge – and text messages – that would also confirm Willis and Wade didn’t tell the truth about when their affair began.
Wade motioned to block Bradley’s testimony due to attorney-client privilege as Bradley represented Wade in his divorce.
Defense attorneys argued that Bradley had text messages and testimony he could offer that fell outside the bounds of that privilege.
Judge McAfee schemed an in-camera hearing – meaning it would take place in his chambers and no public access – to hear Bradley’s statements to determine if they were protected by privilege.
Nathan Wade responded by filing a motion to quash this hearing.
“Nothing under Georgia law authorizes the Court to conduct such an examination once the determination has been made that attorney-client privilege applies, and should the Court compel the disclosure anyway, it would vitiate one of the oldest and most fundamental privileges recognized both at common law and by statute,” Wade’s motion argued.
“Moreover, the Defendants were allowed broad leeway to pry into the private life of Special Prosecutor Wade in an unprecedented and public manner, spanning two full days of testimony,” Wade’s motion continued. “The Defendants sought to introduce intrusive and legally irrelevant personal details of multiple people’s lives for the world to watch unfold in real time, but still no credible evidence exists in the record to support their tenuous claims.”
Wade’s motion made no sense.
Wade asserted attorney-client privilege and now wants to cancel the hearing to prevent the judge from hearing the facts that would allow him to determine if Bradley’s testimony is protected by privilege.
What’s more likely is that Wade is terrified of what Bradley will tell the judge and that the judge will allow him to testify in the disqualification hearing.
