Kamala Harris knows her job is to play the loyal soldier.
Sometimes that proves to be too difficult.
And Kamala Harris got caught trying to hide one disturbing fact about Joe Biden’s health.
Liberals in the media are no longer trying to pretend that Joe Biden’s age and cognitive decline aren’t major issues heading into 2024.
The New York Times’ Dealbook author Andrew Ross Sorkin confronted Harris about Biden’s decrepit state during an interview at the platform’s summit.
Sorkin pressed Harris on if she would come clean with the American people should Biden be suffering from physical and mental impairments.
Harris claimed she would come clean, but beneath the surface her answer indicated Harris would prefer to hide the truth as she tried to bully Sorkin and the media into dropping questions about Biden’s age claiming they were right-wing talking points.
“Of course, if necessary, but there’s no need for that. I don’t, there is a political argument that is being made. That is not based on substance, and you’re asking me to hypothesize around what are my duties to the American people, as vice president of the United States, that are based on ethics and morals and the law. I will always follow those rules, but I am suggesting to you that it is important we not be seduced into one of the only arguments that that side of the aisle has right now,” Harris responded.
Sorkin is a liberal who thinks credit card companies can cut off gun sales but even he wasn’t buying Harris’s answer.
In a follow-up, Sorkin told Harris that former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy communicated to him that interactions with Biden showed Biden was a diminished version of himself.
Sorkin said McCarthy “went so far as to say that when they were having the debt negotiations that he didn’t even think he was negotiating with him, that he thought he was looking at cards and that if the information effectively wasn’t on the cards, he wasn’t able to do it.”
Harris once again tried to assuage Sorkin’s fears by admitting that Joe Biden is – in fact – old.
“First off, I would say that age is more than a chronological fact. I spent a whole lot of time with our president be it in the Oval Office or the Situation Room and in other places, and I can tell you, as I just mentioned, not only is he absolutely authoritative in rooms around the globe, but in the Oval Office,” Harris stated.
But Harris’s gaslighting isn’t having any effect.
New York Times/Siena polls of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin found that 71 percent of voters in those battlegrounds think Joe Biden is too old to be president.
Sixty-two percent don’t think Biden has the mental sharpness to be president.
And not coincidentally, Donald Trump led Biden in five of those six states which puts him on a path back to the White House.
