Attorney General Merrick Garland is the architect of Joe Biden’s weaponization of the government to target Donald Trump and his supporters.
But now Garland is on the hot seat.
And these five devastating words could be the final nail in Merrick Garland’s coffin.
Attorney General Garland previously testified to Congress that there was no political interference in United States Attorney David Weiss’s criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.
Republicans scoffed at that claim wondering why a simple investigation into if Hunter Biden lied on a federal firearms background check form or committed tax evasion took nearly five years.
Congressional Republicans got their answer when IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified before the House Ways and Means Committee.
In his testimony Shapley described how the Justice Department meddled in the investigation to protect Hunter Biden from facing more serious felony charges and to cover up Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s schemes from investigators.
An angry Merrick Garland denied these allegations and claimed anyone who dared to criticize him was an insurrectionist trying to destroy democracy.
“Absolutely not and the president has not done that, and the president has committed not to interfere, not only in that investigation but any other kind of investigation,” Garland stated.
But Shapley’s attorney, Mark Lytle, brought the receipts.
In an interview with Fox News Lytle pointed to Shapley’s testimony about a critical October 7, 2022, meeting with Special Agent in Charge Darrell Waldon where Weiss admitted “I’m not the deciding official.”
Weiss admitted this after Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves pushed Weiss to file charges against Hunter Biden in Washington, D.C. as opposed to California.
Weiss wanted to charge Hunter Biden with tax evasion charges dating back to 2014 and 2015 but was prevented from doing so.
Instead, the Justice Department wanted charges filed in D.C. because the statute of limitations against the 2014 and 2015 offenses expired.
“That was a senior leadership meeting at the U.S. attorney’s office that was attended by the Special Agent in Charge from the IRS, it was attended by Gary Shapley himself, it was attended by the special agent in charge from the FBI, and the assistant special agent in charge from the FBI. And Gary Shapley wrote up to his superiors — which included that same Special Agent in Charge that was at the meeting and he described it,” Lytle stated.
Lytle said Shapley described the October 7 meeting as his “red line” because Weiss confessed that the Department of Justice blocked his attempts to charge Hunter Biden with felonies in California.
“And he said, Weiss stated that he is not the deciding person on whether charges are filed and he described the whole [series of] events that Weiss laid out at that meeting, which was his red letter meeting, where Weiss said he tried to go to the D.C. U.S. attorney’s office and they wouldn’t approve it and he was trying to charge it elsewhere in California and he was trying to seek special counsel authority and they — that got denied. And so, this was a shocker to the agents who were present,” Lytle added.
Lytle said the paper trail following the meeting where Waldon confirmed Shapley’s account that Weiss said he did not have charging authority was proof Shapley told the truth and that Garland misled Congress.
“And of note [in] this email that’s in exhibit 10 is the fact that Special Agent Shapley sent this up the chain to his command, including to Darrell Waldon, who attended it, the Special Agent in Charge, and asked Darrell Waldon, did I get this right? And Darrell Waldon says, yes, you did. And so, if he had gotten it wrong, Darrell Waldon would have said, no, I never heard that before. So, there is credibility, there’s corroboration of what Special Agent Shapley is saying,” Lytle added.
Republicans are calling for impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden and a special counsel to investigate Biden’s corruption.
Many conservatives believe those impeachment proceedings and special counsel investigation should also include probing Garland for obstruction of justice and perjury.
