Fani Willis’ 2020 election witch hunt against Donald Trump isn’t going the way Democrats hoped.
In fact, the only credible allegations of criminality in this case look like they are pointed in Willis’ direction.
And Fani Willis could face prison time after this unbelievable accusation.
Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a criminal complaint with Governor Brian Kemp and State Attorney General Chris Carr against Fani Willis on the grounds she allegedly committed honest services fraud by paying Nathan Wade – a man she allegedly had an affair with – $654,000 to work as the special prosecutor in the Donald Trump 2020 election witch hunt.
Court filings by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman alleged Wade then used the money to pay for him and Willis to go on cruises and vacation in Napa Valley.
Such payments could constitute kickbacks if it’s proven Willis financially benefited from the taxpayer money she paid Wade.
In an interview with Breitbart, Greene described her complaint as an attempt to hold a public official accountable for their conduct and not some partisan crusade.
“This isn’t political at all,” Greene stated. “There’s clear evidence that alleges Fani Willis and her top prosecutor, who was apparently her lover, Nathan Wade, have broken multiple lawsuits, and the evidence is pouring out people have been posting and all over social media.”
Greene explained that she believed Kemp and Carr would follow through and that this was a test for the anti-Trump Kemp.
“I really have high expectations of Governor Kemp and our Attorney General Chris Carr,” Greene added. “There should be a criminal investigation.”
“If he [Kemp] ignores this, then he’s showing an extreme political bias,” Greene added.
“They can’t wash their hands of this,” Greene concluded. “Even if they are supporting DeSantis or hate President Trump — they can’t wash their hands of this one.”
Willis and Wade haven’t commented publicly on the allegations.
Willis said she would make her response in “court filings.”
But Wade’s wife subpoenaed Willis to testify in their divorce proceedings.
These developments all add heft to the allegations against Willis.
Trump’s co-defendant Michael Roman requested Judge Scott McAfee throw out the charges against Willis on the grounds that Willis hiring someone she was romantically involved with violated Georgia’s conflict of interest protocol.
Roman also argued Wade’s appointment was invalid because Willis never obtained the approval of the Fulton County Commission to hire Wade.
The law requires the commissioners to give their OK to these types of hirings.
But having the judge toss the case or disqualify Willis’ office from the case could be the least of Willis’ worries.
